Before I get to this let me explain. I was doing a series on these two charicters, Annabelle and Roland, and really enjoying writing them. I had started a subplot where they found out that children were being taken from the orphanage and sold on the black market. I have no idea where that idea came from but Annabelle didnt like children being harmed. I later found out it's becuase of the single point to her and her novel.

Annabelle is denied true happiness she wants others to have happiness.

Anyway, this whole Annabelle thing got stronger and stronger and evolved. At first I couldnt stop writing her here (the only place I knew to write for) but it wasnt enough.
Soon it evolved into a novel which I'm still writing. I'm at 66,844 and it's still going strong.

So seeing as how I need to get it out and publish it, I didnt want to keep going with the PV story here.
I've since decided to do a little bit with them here, just not so much.

Anyway, here is my unfinished #4 for Unfinished Week.

8 PM in the evening,
The Zero Street mission in Parodopolis is the place where the homeless and destitute go for food and shelter.
Reverend Mac Fleetwood does everything in his power to help these people.
Next to the mission is a small orphanage also run by the Reverend. Children from all over the duo-city area are brought here for a place to stay, food to eat and maybe even clothes to wear. This is generally the first stop for them before Social Services steps in.

There’s a nock on the door of the orphanage, interrupting Stacy Umballa in the middle of story time. She goes to answer the door, “Yes?” then looks down to see two hungry, scared looking little children.
She bends down, “Oh my! Come in you too! You look famished!’
Annabelle, looking scared and tender replies, “Yes lady! We are so very hungry!”
“What is your names little ones?”
“My name is Annabelle and this is my big brother Roland. Can we stay the night?”
“Of course, of course! Please come sit with the other children! I’ll get you some food.”
“Thank you lady.”
“Please, call me Stacy.”
“Of course.” Annabelle responds as they sit in the circle with the other children.
Stacy introduces the other five kids, “Annabelle, Roland, this is Jimmy, Dee Dee, little James, Isaac and Connie. Children, this is Annabelle and Roland. They just arrived. I’ll be right back with some food for them.”
Roland looks at Annabelle sharply.
“Excuse me Stacy, but maybe we’re not that hungry. Can we just stay and get warm?” she asks.
“Oh aren’t you a darling. It’s no trouble really. I’ll be right back.” She leaves.
“Sister, we’d better act fast. We cannot eat their food and we certainly cannot stay.” He looks at the cross on the wall with unease.
“Roland, you know those artifacts don’t harm us. Now give me a moment and then we’ll leave.”
She turned to the children, “Hello little ones,” she begins. The other kids just stare at her. “We need to meet the woman who calls herself Catherine Zabolts. Any notion as to where we can find her?”
“Who are you kids, really?” Connie, the bossy nine year old asks.
“And why do you talk like that?” eleven year old Dee Dee asks as her little brother James huddles in close.
“We do not have time for games. Is it true that Ms. Zabolts takes children from here all the time?”
“Yes. She’s a nice lady. Yesterday she took Yvonnie and Danny to a new home.” Dee Dee replied.
Jimmy interrupts, “Wait, why do you kids talk so weird? And why are you so white?”
“Jimmy, that’s rude!” Dee Dee exclaims.
“No, it’s perfectly alright Dee Dee. We are strangers here. If you would like I will let you children in on a secret. We are not normal children. We are… special. We have magical powers and require your assistance.”
“Wait. Hold on. Powers? Prove it!” Connie retorts.
“Alright. My brother and I will vanish then reappear. Ready?”
The kids all nod anxiously.
“Brother, check the door.”
The children blink and Roland is by the door then back to sitting with them. “It is all clear sister.”
“How?” Connie demands.
“COOL!” Isaac exclaims.
“Shhh.” Annabelle shushes with her little finger at her mouth. Dee Dee could’ve sworn she saw fangs in Annabelle’s mouth.
Both Annabelle and Roland turn to mist then reform. The kids eyes grow wide.
“Now, it is very important that we find Catherine Zabolts. I know she must be here because that’s her car outside. Where is her office?”
All the kids point down the hall at the same time.
“Down the left, three doors down.” Connie exclaims.
The vampire children get up. Annabelle smiles tenderly at them, “Thank you children. You’ve been most helpful. You never saw us.” Annabelle’s eyes glow blood red and the kids are all mesmerized. Soon they wake up.
“I’m back children. Here’s some soup for… where did they go?”
The kids look at Stacy like she’s nuts.
“Who are you taking about Stacy?” Jimmy asked.
“The children, the hungry children who came to the door.”
“Nobody came to the door Stacy.”
Stacy Umballa realized then that a couple days off was in order.
